Rambling Club's Code of Behaviour


Footwear and Clothing

Suitable, sturdy, comfortable footwear should be worn at all times. Warm, waterproof clothing and a change of clothes are essential on longer walks. Walk leaders may refuse to take anyone inadequately dressed. Denim jeans are not suitable.

Walk Leaders

Please follow the walk leader, do not go ahead of him/her. Splinter Groups are discouraged at all times. On public roads walk no more that two abreast, on the right facing oncoming traffic.

Country Codes

Take all your litter home. When climbing gates, do so at the hinged end, one at a time. Close all gates and do not damage walls or fences.

First Aid

Always carry your own personal first aid and survival kit.

Whilst every effort is made by the club to guarantee the members' safety, it is understood that each member takes part in the club's activities at his or her own risk and that the club cannot be held responsible for any mishap or injury howsoever caused.
