Fishing & Fly Fishing Lessons

Fishing SchoolThe Park Lake fly fishery is a 12-acre stream fed lake, set in the middle of rolling grassland and mature woodland. This challenging Troutmaster water is retained by an impressive 18th century dam spanning some 60 metres.

The lake is home to a range of aquatic insects and fly life and is stocked weekly with rainbow trout. For those keen to learn how to fly fish angling, instructions are available by making a booking at Dungannon Park reception – 028 8772 8690, all equipment is supplied. Boats are available to truly enjoy the picturesque surrounding, and there is a wheelie boat onsite designed to cater for wheelchair and disabled anglers.

Dungannon Park Treasure Trail

Treasure TrailDungannon Park Treasure Trail is a fun and unique way to enjoy the outdoors and explore the beautiful surroundings of Dungannon Park. It is a great way to spend quality time together on a family walk, or a fun day out with friends. The treasure trail is a mystery treasure hunt based on a fictional “local Fisherman” who is rumoured to have recovered an ancient vault that contained instructions on how to find treasure somewhere in Dungannon Park. Visitors to the Park are invited to search for the “treasure” by finding and solving clues. When successfully completed there is an opportunity to enter into a competition online to win a prize.

For people who have a keen sense of adventure and a desire to explore then here is the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of treasure seekers on the Dungannon Park Treasure Trail.

Chris Jelly, one of Northern Ireland’s best young coaches, is the Head Teaching Professional at Dungannon Golf Club, where Darren Clarke played prior to turning pro.

Prior to Darren, Carol Wallace, under the skilful tutelage of her father Paddy Wallace, Dungannon’s first pro, won the British Girls Championship and the Irish Girls Championship.

Embrace modern technology and new concepts to make coaching effective and fun.


Whether it’s a complete coaching programme, golf basics, tweaking a swing, advice on equipment or coaching juniors Chris is there to help squeeze the most out of this wonderful game that both tantalises and frustrates in equal measures.

Dungannon Cycle Route

CyclingEnjoy a stress-free, traffic-free route, taking in the Dungannon Park, the Linen Green and Windmill Wood. Mixed surface paths that bring in a few challenging climbs, that can be enjoyed as a circular route approx. 2 miles in length.

Creative Writing Workshops

Creative WritingPublished author and scriptwriter Emma Heatherington offers one-day classes (10am – 4pm with a lunch break) for groups of up to 12 people (16-plus). Children’s classes (8 -12) are also available, as are teenage workshops for 12 – 16 year olds.

Arts & Craft Workshops At Ranfurly House

Art ClassRanfurly House Arts & Visitor Centre offers a wide range of Arts activities: Shows in our Square Box performance space, Arts classes and one day workshops, which are accessible and cater for all age groups. Adults can choose from jewellery making to creative writing, design and make a stunning pottery creation or complete that very special outfit with a personalised fascinator to match. These are only a few of the options on offer for adults. The younger family members have the opportunity to have fun creating their own masterpieces using a range of materials in the Arts and Craft classes or using the potter’s wheel in the children’s pottery class.

We also cater for the tiny tots in our parent and toddler art classes, encouraging creativity and art skills whilst developing social skills, self-confidence and the understanding of the importance of trying new things.

We are currently offering a FREE new Taster Art class for adults with disabilities who are not affiliated to a group. Activities include: – Pottery, Candle Making, Card Making, Willow Sculpture, Glass Painting, Acrylic painting, Dance & Batik.

As well as the permanent exhibition in Ranfurly House Arts & Visitors Centre telling the story of the Flight of the Earls and the Plantation of Ulster, we have a very popular temporary exhibition space on the second floor, with a changing exhibition every month.
