Dungannon leads on funding

19/03/2008

At a meeting of Dungannon Borough Council this month, discussion arose regarding Peace III monies which will be made available in June of this year.

At the meeting Councillor Francis Molloy asked the Council if it was possible for Dungannon to act as the lead Council and proposed that they nominate themselves. In response to his question however he was advised by the Chief Executive Iain Frazer that costings for this position would be extensive.

The Council have confirmed that they are currently applying for the new 'Peace III priority One Theme One' monies on a cluster basis with Cookstown, Magherafelt, Fermanagh: "We are currently developing a plan to submit for funding to be delivered across the area and there will be a partnership to help support in delivery of this".

At this stage there is no indication of what the level of funding could be available but the Council will submit a plan by the end of March.
