Overwhelming Response To Dungannon Lady’s Charity Art Sale03/03/2010
Local artist Joan Carson is overwhelmed at the response to a charity art sale held at her Dungannon home in aid of the Ulster Cancer Foundation. The exhibition and sale was a tremendous success and Joan would like to thank everyone who supported this fundraising event. A number of paintings are still available for purchase and a private viewing can be arranged by contacting UCF on 028 9066 3281. Four years ago Joan set up the Janet Inman Forget Me Not Fund, with UCF, in memory of her daughter. So far, with the help of her family and friends, she has raised over £9,000 in total for Janet's fund, which will help local people who have been affected by cancer. UCF was the first charity in Northern Ireland to introduce Forget Me Not tribute funds, which is a special way of giving donations to the charity. Deborah McWhirter, Direct Marketing Manager, UCF said: "Thank you to Joan for holding another successful art exhibition and for her continued support. UCF is a local charity committed to tackling cancer by supporting cancer research, providing services for cancer patients and their families and by educating people on how they can reduce their risk of the disease." For further information or to receive a Forget Me Not Fund information pack please call Deborah McWhirter on 028 9066 3281 or email deborahmcwhirter@ulstercancer.org.
